PASTOR'S REPORT:

Fr. Juettner reported that the parish bulletin has announced the 'Silver Jubilee Celebration of his 25th Anniversary Year of Priesthood' with a Mass of Thanksgiving and Reception in Marian Hall on May 16th

On the weekend of May 22/23 a Christian Brother will represent his religious community for the 2004 Summer Missionary Appeal in our parish and he will also promote the vocation of religious brothers as recommended by our parish Vocations Committee.

He also stated that the parish will observe its 7th anniversary of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Tuesday morning, June 1st, with an outdoor Eucharistic procession with grade school children and committed adorers, similar to last year's observance.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick was administered to 108 parishioners at a Mass in church on Friday morning, May 7th. This Sacrament will also be administered to the Catholic residents of North Ridge Care Center on Friday morning, May 14th.

CHAIR'S REPORT:

Jim Hentges updated Council members about some of the e-mail address changes found on the roster of Parish Council members.

SECRETARY'S REPORT:

Rita Degnan had no report from Finance Committee.

Regarding the parish Commemorative book, Jeanine Machan stated that the next meeting for a report on the progress of the book will be held the week of May 17th.

Joe Haefliger gave a progress report of the work of the Stewardship Committee. He stated some of the objectives, goals and strategies of this Committee and provided informative copies to Council members.

Jim Hentges reported that the effort to form a new Catholic Social Teachings Committee in the parish is making steady progress. Later this summer letters inviting prospective members to this new Committee will be sent to a select group of parishioners, with the expectation that a small core group will form this new Committee and will hold its first meeting in September.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jim Hentges reported that the Evangelization Initiative that is sponsored by the Archdiocese begins in our parish this fall. Parishioners with leadership skills need to be identified soon so that they may assume specific roles for the Evangelization Initiative. It is the expectation that most if not all parishes in the Archdiocese will participate in this series over the next five year. Copies of the timeline, roles and expectations were given to all Council members. The Parish Pastoral Council and the DET (Development and Evangelization Team) will have major roles in the implementation and management of this new series in our parish.

NEW BUSINESS:

The parish-wide Volunteer Appreciation Dinner will be held on Wednesday evening, June 23 with a Mass of Thanksgiving before the dinner. Parish Council members are again hosting this annual parish social event. They devoted part of the meeting to discuss the evening program and their roles and responsibilities.

Closing Prayer by Phil Goebel.

Meeting Adjourned at 8:50 pm

Respectfully Submitted, Rita Degnan, Secretary
