REPORTS

The pastor stated that the fourth Sunday of the December parish bulletins will be distributed one day early, at all the Christmas Masses, because of special information addressed to all parishioners, whether active or inactive members. In that parish bulletin there will be two full pages of information pertaining to both the new Evangelization Initiative that takes place in Lent 2005 and on the Parish Lenten Mission. Early announcements for both important events seem appropriate in the parish bulletins at Christmas.

Fr. Juettner also thought that the Vocations Promotions for women religious delivered by two Nashville Dominican Sisters at the three Sunday Masses on Nov 21st were well received.

He then made a summary report on the results of the recommendation of the parish Finance Committee to send letters to over 130 parish families who have thus far not made any financial contributions to the parish in 2004. The mailing also included a response form to complete and return.

Jim Hentges distributed a 'Completed Action' form on an earlier unsuccessful effort to establish a Catholic Social Teachings Committee in the parish. That new form is used to document the results of action steps taken to update or add to the document called the Seven Essential Areas of Parish Life. The Council will now use this new form whenever action steps are taken, to document any new initiatives and procedures taken to update any of these seven essential areas.

Rita Degnan had no report from the parish Finance Committee.

Jeanine Machan reported that the editing process continues with parish Commemorative book.

In regard to his liaison connection with the School Advisory Commission, Steve Connolly reported that an outreach will be made to promote active participation among the parish school parents with the new Evangelization Initiative during Lent 2005.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jim Hentges reported that the opening session for the Evangelization Initiative would be held on Sunday evening, January 23. The first and last meetings will be held in church and the five small group sessions will be held in homes. There will be a one-week break in the Evangelization Initiative during the time that the Parish Lenten Mission is conducted.

Jim Hentges distributed the 'Welcome to the Neighborhood' letter, now in its second draft, for discussion and comment by Council members. An outreach to all new homeowners west of the Church property will likely occur after Easter 2005.

NEW BUSINESS:

The Parish Lenten Mission, offered by a priest from the congregation of 'The Fathers of Mercy' in Kentucky, will take place in the parish from February 27 to March 3, 2005.

The Vocations Awareness Program, entitled Called by Name, will be conducted in the parish on the weekend of Jan 15/16. This same program was last held in the parish in January 1998.

Closing Prayer by Rita Degnan.

Meeting Adjourned at 8:20 pm
