REPORTS

Fr. Juettner commented that the attendance at the four Masses for Christmas seemed as large as previous years, but that the number of Confessions during Advent seemed less than usual.

The 2005 Annual Catholic Appeal will be featured and promoted with the annual video presentation of Archbishop Flynn on Feb 5/6. The ACA goal for this year is $113,838.00.

KKE Architect Firm gave its printed report of recommended improvements to the parish school building on Jan 5th. Members of the School Advisory Commission are currently reading this report.

Catholic Schools Week will be observed from January 24 to January 30 with special events each school day and an open house at the school on the last day.

The Vocations Awareness and Promotional Program entitled "Called By Name" will be conducted at each Mass on Jan 15/16 with a seminarian describing his call to the priesthood. Parishioners will be able to nominate individuals on nomination cards whom they think may have a call to the priesthood, vowed Religious Life or to the Permanent Diaconate.

No report submitted by the Chair.

Rita Degnan reported that members of the School Advisory Commission made a report to the parish Finance Committee concerning the parish school's 2005-2006 fiscal budget in December. This budget was approved.

No report/update was submitted on the parish history book.

Steve Connolly mentioned that at the latest meeting of the School Advisory Commission much information was given on the efforts in place to produce a new and impressive school web site.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jim Hentges reported that 113 people have already registered for participation in small groups for the Evangelization Initiative on the weekend of Jan 8/9. Another opportunity for registration will take place on Jan 15/16 before the first large group gathering for the E.I. is held on Sunday, Jan 23.

Jim Hentges reported that a parish letter would be sent to the residents of the new homes in the Winnetka Greens Development (at two different times depending on when the homes are occupied) to welcome families to the area and to inform them about the parish and school. An open house is also planned sometime in late Spring/early summer for the new homeowners.

Jim Hentges reported that the Parish Lenten Mission, conducted by Fathers of Mercy, would be held from February 27 to March 3. A first announcement was found in the Christmas parish bulletin.

The Vocations Promotion program "Called By Name" will be conducted on the weekend of Jan 15/16. This program was also announced in the Christmas parish bulletin.

NEW BUSINESS:

Five new members to the Parish Pastoral Council (2005-2008) will be determined through the "Nomination and Discernment Process" that will be held over a period of two months. Nomination Sunday will be conducted on March 12/13 with published announcements beforehand in the parish bulletins for the two previous weekends.

Closing Prayer by Joe Haefliger.
