On the Feast of Corpus Christi an outdoor procession of the Blessed Sacrament will take place after the 11:00 Mass and will mark the 8th anniversary of Perpetual Adoration in our parish.
The two current trustees will renew their service for another two-year term beginning June 1st.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick was administered to more than 100 people here at a Mass on May 6th. This Sacrament would also be administered to Catholic residents in area nursing homes and assisted living centers during the week of May 9th.
An explanation of procedures to be taken at the property line between the parish (west church parking lot) and the new development will be found in the May 15th parish bulletin. This is the second report on this issue.
The priests of the Archdiocese, including the two from St. Raphael Church, will be attending the bi-annual Presbytery Days in Rochester, MN, from June 20 to 23.
Jim Hentges had no report.
Rita Degnan reported that some members of the parish Finance Committee have met with Jim Smith, a member of the School Advisory Commission, to review the priority list of improvements recommended in the school building, with some of these improvements to occur in the summer of 2005.
Jeanine Machan reported that the parish 50th Anniversary Commemorative Book would be sent to the printers in early June.

As representative of the Council to the School Advisory Commission, Steve Connolly reported that the school principal Mary Wozniak has recently submitted her resignation for the end of the school year. OLD BUSINESS:
The first of two Open Houses for the new homeowners in Winnetka Greens was held on Wednesday, April 20th. One couple attended (non-Catholic) and enjoyed a warm reception by a number of parishioners on hand to greet them and provide information about the parish including a tour of the church. The second Open House will be scheduled when Phase II of the development along Bass Lake Road is completed and homeowners are in residence.
The 2nd Discernment Session was held on Thursday, April 28th with six people in attendance. At the close of the session the five new members to the Parish Pastoral Council were identified. Their names were found in the May 8th parish bulletin along with a complete description of the timeline for the Discernment Process.
The annual Parish Volunteer Appreciation social, held on Sunday morning May 1st, was a great success with approximately 300 parishioners in attendance for the breakfast. A special acknowledgement of thanks was extended to all those volunteers who prepared and served the meal.
NEW BUSINESS:
Fr. Juettner gave a presentation of the highlights of a training session he attended on the afternoon of May 12th, which the Archdiocese is providing for all parish leadership, in regard to providing information and greater awareness to the "Charter for the Protection of Children". This Archdiocese is one of 86 dioceses that are participating in the ongoing education and training of church and school leaders on the importance of creating safe environments for all children. An online website called www.virtus.org brings resources, risk prevention tools, and information for ongoing education and training in the area of protecting children from child sexual abuse. Two instructive videos were shown at the training session that was facilitated by a nationally certified professional in the field of child protection and advocacy.
A special acknowledgement of thanks was extended to Sr. Marie Therese for her ten years of dedicated service to the ministry of coordinating parish volunteers in the parish, as well as her many other roles, including her role as a pastoral minister.
Closing prayer by Jim Hentges.
