The Respect Life Committee exists to promote the restoration of the sanctity of life from conception to natural death; and meets the third Thursday of each month.

  • We educate ourselves on the life issues to promote a "culture of life".
  • We stand against all: abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, physician assisted suicide, embryonic stem cell research and cloning which destroy human life and define a "culture of death."  \
  • We sponsor speakers from Human Life Alliance (HLA), Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL), Prenatal Partners for Life, Priest for Life and Pro-Life Action Ministries (PLAM) who educate parishioners from our parish.
  • We participate in the Annual Prayer Service for Life at the Cathedral of St. Paul and MCCL's March for Life at the State Capitol
  • We participate in the 40 Days for Life peaceful prayer vigil for an end to abortion.
  • Our committee sponsors a Respect Life booth at our Parish Festival.
  • Our members organize the Mother's Day corsage sale. Members gain knowledge of important current life issues and feel part of the parish community as we unite to help restore the sanctity of God's most precious gift of life.

A Community Caring For Life (ACCL): an Archdiocesan initiative begun by Archbishop Harry J. Flynn

We seek to promote the "Culture of Life" by welcoming the woman in a crisis pregnancy with friendship and her child with joy.
We offer the mother encouragement and practical aid in the form of a "pack-n-play" (portable crib) and layette of basic baby items. We are able also to refer the mother to other resources and pregnancy care centers.

Options for Those Who Want To Be an ACCL Volunteer:

The Hot Line Volunteers:

  • Hotline volunteers access applicants through a secure phone line (the hot line).
  • Through a phone interview they complete an application form and forward the information to the Archdiocesan Life Fund for approval. The applicant's information is always held in strict confidentiality.
  • If the application is approved, an appointment is set up during regular parish hours for the woman to receive needed resources.

The Suppliers:

  • Volunteers donate baby items, which they have made or used and passed on, or purchased for the layettes. These items are           customarily deposited in the bassinets, which have been placed in the church for that purpose.

The Layette Organizers:

  • Volunteers organize the baby items seasonally and prepare the layettes in advance of the need for them.

The Intercessors (the VIPs: Volunteers for Intercessory Prayer):

  • Volunteers commit to regular prayer for the mothers and their babies.
